Curzon St, Digbeth, Birmingham B4 7XG
(Over the road from Millennium Point)

7 Inch Cinema and Capsule have been given the keys to Curzon St Station for the day, and will be laying down some serious audio-visual entertainment as part of a motley affiliation of arty stuff happening around Digbeth under the moniker of the EASTSIDE ARTS PICNIC. Other folks involved include Ikon Gallery, Vivid, BIAD and Craftspace.

Platform 9 will be playing host to absolutely loads of topnotch films and live music, with a running order that looks something like this…

18:30: The Destroyers vs. Mitchell and Kenyon (live)
The Mitchell and Kenyon Collection comprises over 800 films made for travelling film-shows in the 1900s, discovered in a basement in Blackburn ten years ago and painstakingly restored by the British Film Institute. Earlier this year the Destroyers were commissioned by the Flatpack Festival to accompany a few of these amazing films live, and this evening they’ll be performing a selection of the resulting scores.

19:30: Mike in Mono (live)
Exhilarating electro-pop climax courtesy of Birmingham’s own ambidextrous disco diva. Find him on Warm Circuit records.
