14. 07. 08
A massive thanks to all those in attendance and those that helped out, performed, carried stuff, painted things, you made it all worth while.
The Created in Birmingham blog has started to gather a Supersonic Collective Memory, so please feel free to post them your links.
We’re off to sleep now for a day or two
Thanks from Lisa & Jenny

[...] Here’s the Supersonic website itself and thanks to the Capsule ladies, Lisa & Jenny, should probably go on this Capsule blog post. [...]
July 14th, 2008 at 4:20 pmWent Sunday brilliant Transitional, Asva, Earth,Red Sparrowes,Fucked Up and the awesome Gravetemple were superb, my ears are still ringing. Great show again keep it up andeclectic for 09.
July 14th, 2008 at 7:38 pmGreat festivalk yet again. Any ideas why Julian Cope didn’t show?
July 14th, 2008 at 10:25 pmThis year was even better than the last. I’m genuinely considering starting a religion based around Supersonic. Its seems entirely reasonable to me. I dread to think how much money I spent there. I went to stalls in the Old Library and purchased a total of 15 records The thai food also made me an incredibly happy (and fat[ter]) man. I watched CPWK, Dokkebi-Q, PCM, Dalek, Black Sun, The Courtesy Group, Guapo, Justice Yeldham, Transitional and Max Tundra. This years 7-Inch Cinema was also splendid. The Yukio Fujimoto, Brian Duffy & Pierre Bastion presentations were fascinating and the live Nosferatu soundtrack was beautiful.
July 15th, 2008 at 9:31 amWhens the next one? ;p
Thanks for a great weekend. From Cutting Pink onwards it was relentless.Saturday ,Black Sun,Guapo,Wooden Shjips,Oren Ambarchi.Thrones almost induced a heart attack on my wife.(Just as well that there were so many surgeons in attendance ! )Sunday Einstellung,Red Sparowes,Asva,Gravetemple.Did anyone who listened to Kikuri go to work on Monday ? See you next year.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:13 amRe. Cope no show.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:09 pmI asked O’Malley and Ambarchi about this, but they didn’t seem to have any more idea than anyone else. However it might have had something to do with Harmonia being there, as I gather from Brian Barritt - who has known members of Harmonia since back in the day when he recorded a krautrock record with Timothy Leary - that there is some personal animosity between them and Cope (ie, they can’t stand him). So maybe he didn’t want to risk bumping into them.
Just a theory.

Brilliant
July 15th, 2008 at 7:33 pmMy first Supersonic and definately noy the last what an amazing weekend. Personal Highlights HArmonia (was that the ultimate electronic gig ever) oscillations, Yukio Fujimoto, Brian Duffy & Pierre Bastion presentations and battles. Only a small whinge next year can we have more electronica and sonic boundary pushing and less black sabbath on 16rpm????
July 16th, 2008 at 7:41 pmthe greatest festival of all time hands down. inspiring, insane and interstellar. this was my 3rd year and my high expectations were met within the first day. rolo tomassi, guapo, asva, battles and oxbow were my top5 this year. only a few minor gripes. scotch egg was WAY too quiet, totally ruined his 8-bit experience. also sunday’s organisation meant i was bound to space 2 all day, i reckon earth should have done a longer set on the outside stage to mix up the vibes.
July 18th, 2008 at 2:11 pmlisa & jenny you have created something so special, eternal gratitude!
see you next year!

July 29th, 2008 at 3:40 pmBest festival ever.
Totally worth travelling from wicklow and spending money I didnt have.
Next year defo.
lol. At times there were more photographers around the stage than performers, made doubly funny when the artists left the stage to perform in the crowds.
