Thanks to all who came along to what was a really special show last Saturday. The stunning St Paul’s Church was animated with beautiful visuals and gorgeous sounds from Canada’s Esmerine. The multi instrumental collective, featuring members of Godspeed and Silver Mt ZIon created an incredible audio visual experience that matched the venue perfectly.

A great evening all round, thanks again to audience, artists and our ever lovely volunteers. The next show will have a slightly different feel, with Harvey Milk performing at Hare & Hounds on Tuesday 22nd May – but hey, that’s the diversity you can expect from Capsule!

Saturday 12 May – Esmerine (featuring members of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and A Silver Mt Zion) will perform at St Paul’s Church in the Jewellery Quarter. Hailing from Stourbridge near Birmingham, Adam Beckley uses field recordings and looped samples to create textures of sound, sometimes hypnotic noise, other times dreamy soundscapes.
Adam has released two tapes. The first called ‘Revere’ through the label ‘Carnage Club‘. The second and most recent release is a split tape with Los Angeles based musician Beru. This was put out on Adam’s own tape label ‘Armed Within Movement’ and is the first release for the label. You can listen to both these releases on the links below.
