Esmerine support act – Adam Beckley

Hailing from Stourbridge near Birmingham, Adam Beckley uses field recordings and looped samples to create textures of sound, sometimes hypnotic noise, other times dreamy soundscapes.
Adam has released two tapes. The first called ‘Revere’ through the label ‘Carnage Club‘. The second and most recent release is a split tape with Los Angeles based musician Beru. This was put out on Adam’s own tape label ‘Armed Within Movement’ and is the first release for the label. You can listen to both these releases on the links below.

Listen to Diamond Catalog

Diamond Catalog will support Grouper at her upcoming Birmingham show on Friday 30th March at VIVID, they make sound collages with a twisted groove. Their debut record has been released by NNA Tapes (Nate Young, Dylan Ettinger, Oneohtrix Point Never) who describe their record as the “sound of a distant rave in the midst of a disorienting drug spell, wading your way through the infinity of your mind’s own dark matter”.

Interview – ‘Getting Fried with White Hills’

The Quietus talk to fuzzed up, space rockers White Hills about their new record and influences

As a young kid I was all about San Francisco hippy bands but the biggest record that gave me my first proper mindfuck as a kid was P.I.L.’s Metal Box and that really set me off on the tangent. I then got into Juju-era Siouxsie And The Banshees and Bauhaus and that whole kinda

thing. Then I got into bands like The Telescopes and Thee Hypnotics, Loop, Spacemen 3 and that whole era

Props to Rammel (and VIVID)

Props to Rammel Club and Harbinger Sound for a brilliant weekender in Nottingham. A really diverse line up with some stand out performances from Bill Kouligas, John Wiese, John Wall + Mark Durgan, Dieter Muh and Bong.

SWLLWS also performed a great lo-fi set and you can catch a new piece from her at our show with Grouper as part of Fierce Festival on Friday 30th March at VIVID.

Sad news was announced today that VIVID will be ceasing trading. We’ve had a great relationship with the VIVID team over the years, from co-commissioning the Sonic Graffiti project, to housing great shows with Lightning Bolt, Atsuhiro Ito, Tweak Bird, Pram and lots more. We look forward to hearing how the VIVID legacy will move on.Read their statement here – http://www.vivid.org.uk/
